Popular housemates Bret, Tricia, Devon, and Jenny of “Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash of 2010” are in danger of eviction after receiving the most votes in the nomination night last Sunday (May 30).

The foursome will also be the first ones this season to undergo the “Vote to Save, Vote to Evict” system, wherein viewers can “vote to save” their favorites and “vote to evict” the housemates they want to leave the house.

To “vote to save” a housemate, just text BBS(space)NAME OF HOUSEMATE, and to vote to evict just text BBE(space)NAME OF HOUSEMATE and send to 2331 for Globe, Sun Cellular, TM and Bayan Wireless subscribers, and 231 for Smart and Talk N’ Text subscribers.

Aside from a possible eviction, the nominated housemates will also have to deal with the pressure of winning their weekly task, which is mounting a concert, with the rest of the housemates.

Celebrity guests Jhong Hilario of Streetboys, former “Pinoy Dream Academy” voice teacher Sweet Plantado of “The Company,” and musical director Mel Villena will meet up with the teens to give ideas and voice out their opinions about the concert.

Zanjoe Marudo aired his side on ex-girlfriend Mariel Rodriguez’s recent admission that they are no longer a couple. Mariel finally shed light on the controversy when she broke her silence on the May 29 episode of

Entertainment Live. She shared that Zanjoe’s priority right now is his family, so their relationship needed to
be set aside. However, Mariel clarified that they are still good friends and that they continue to communicate with each other. As a matter of fact, the Wowowee host even attended Zanjoe’s golf tournament, Z Cup, yesterday.

In an interview with The Buzz, Zanjoe also supported Mariel’s claim that they continue to communicate and the actor even insinuated that there is still a chance of patching things up. “Wala naman kaming… ako, wala naman akong planong talagang mawala kami o ‘yung mapunta ako sa iba (at) mapunta siya sa iba,” Zanjoe said.

Zanjoe explained that he prefers to keep things about the split between him and Mariel as much as possible to avoid the matter getting out of hand. “Kasi kapag once na marami pa tayong kinuwento, marami pa tayong ipinaliwanag, mas hahaba pa nang hahaba,” he said.
Mariel already clarified that there are no third parties involved in their split. She also denied the speculations that Robin Padilla, who became a guest co-host for Wowowee, is supposedly courting her. Mariel stated too that there is no truth to Zanjoe dating actress Cristine Reyes, with whom he is working on a project with

MANILA, Philippines - Action star Robin Padilla, who admits he has become used to being called the "Videoke King," said he already misses hosting "Wowowee."

"Hinahanap ko na ang studio. Hinahanap ko na ang mga rehearsal ng kanta," Padilla revealed in an interview over radio dzMM's morning program, "Magandang Morning with Julius and Tintin Babao" on Saturday.

He said he has not recovered from the sadness brought by his leaving the noontime variety show on Friday.

Nasanay na akong tumira sa [ABS-CBN] eh," he said.

Padilla revealed during the radio interview that for the past 2 weeks, he has been sleeping in his dressing room at the ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City.

He said he asked the ABS-CBN management's permission to live temporarily at the compound because he did not want to be late for the noontime show.

The action star said the daily rehearsals usually end at 11 p.m. and he needs to wake up as early as 6 a.m. for follow up rehearsals.

He said ABS-CBN provided him a "special chair" that he can sleep on inside his dressing room.

"Meron po. Malambot naman na upuan. Espesyal naman na upuan," Padilla said.

Padilla bid "Wowowee" goodbye on Friday. Regular co-hosts Pokwang and Mariel Rodriguez were seen crying their hearts out during Binoe's farewell.

There were reports that ABS-CBN tried to convince him to stay on, but he refused because the action star did not want to get caught in the middle of the network's issues with the show's on-leave host, Willie Revillame.

Not really leaving ABS-CBN?

Padilla, meanwhile, hinted during the radio interview that he may stay on with ABS-CBN for a show.

He said that before the ABS-CBN bosses asked him to temporarily host "Wowowee," there were already talks for him to do a show for the network.

Marami nang pag-uusap sa ABS-CBN," he said.

The actor added that there were also hints that he may shoot a movie with Pokwang and Rodriguez, who was constantly teased with the guest host in the past 2 weeks.

Aside from the potential shows with ABS-CBN, Padilla said that he received different project offers while hosting "Wowowee."

For the second straight year, ABS-CBN Corporation was honored by the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) as one of the top-performing companies of 2009 in terms of corporate governance and compliance practices.

ABS-CBN, which is the only multimedia company to win the recognition for two consecutive years, is among the 30 companies that scored highly and at par with international standards.

The annual event aims to promote transparency, accountability and the general practice of good corporate governance in all publicly-listed companies in the Philippines. Various corporations from different sectors were graded based on the rights of shareholders, equitable treatment of shareholders, role of stakeholders, disclosure and transparency, and board responsibilities in the company.

The ICD conducted the Corporate Governance Scorecard with the help of the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Philippine Stock Exchange, and the Ateneo School of Law.

ABS-CBN has recently changed its name from ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation to ABS-CBN Corporation to reflect the company’s evolution from a broadcasting network to a multimedia conglomerate.

“We want the public to recall ABS-CBN as not just broadcast-centric company. Through the years, we have been exploring various media platforms aside from broadcasting,” said Eugenio Lopez III, chairman and CEO of ABS-CBN at the company’s annual stockholders meeting.

Pero may option to renew for a year ang GMA-7.

A day after their word war on Showtime, Vice Ganda made an apology to Tado.

Here’s the transcript of his lengthy speech:

Let us all work from this mistake, from this experience. Peace, peace, peace tayo, Tado. Love, love love.”

During the Philippine launch of Charice’s international album which was held at Glorietta 4 park this afternoon, the new pop princess dropped a hint about a certain “surprise.”

Fresh from the success of her international album on the Billboard charts, Charice graced the Glorietta 4 Park in Makati this afternoon to formally launch the album in the country which is distributed locally by Warner Music Philippines. Her fans were delighted to witness Charice perform some songs from her album live. These songs are “Thank You,” “Reset,” the Ryan Tedder song “I Did It For You,” “Nobody Singin’ to Me,” “I Love You,” the David Foster song “In This Song” and her hit single which topped the Billboard Dance/Club chart, “Pyramid.”

During the mini-concert, Charice mentioned a certain “surprise” that according to her, “will surely delight her fans in the coming days.” That’s why during the short press conference after the show, some reporters asked for some hints regarding the “surprise.”

“Basta in na in po siya ngayon,” she said.

So speculations among the members of the press popped instantly that Charice might appear on the top-rating musical tv series “Glee.” Glee is currently the most popular tv program in the US that some Hollywood stars expressed their interest to appear as guests on the hit tv show.

If ever it’s the “surprise” that Charice dropped during her album launch earlier, it will be another milestone for the young diva who already appeared on a Hollywood movie and numerous talk shows in the US.

Bong Osorio, Head of ABS-CBN Corporate Communications, sent Starmometer the following statement regarding the meeting between ABS-CBN and Wowowee host Willie Revillame.

(Hologram????)

ABS CBN laging mapagkumbaba yan, mataas o mababa man rating nila never silang nagbubuhat ng sariling bangko. pinapakita nila kung ano ang totoo sa publiko. wala silang takot isiwalat ang katotohanan maski talents pa nila ang involved.

ABS CBN never nagyabang sa telebisyon o kaya ay naghamon.

ABS-CBN’s high-tech election coverage bested other networks last Monday while their anchors and reporters became multimedia journalists.

When Filipinos trooped to their precincts to vote on election day, most of them tuned in to ABS-CBN’s “Halalan 2010″ to get the latest news and went online to send their thoughts via the microblogging site Twitter, which made #Halalan the third most talked about or trending topic worldwide.

Aside from using new media like Twitter and Facebook in the country’s most comprehensive election coverage, ABS-CBN used the most advanced technology in news reporting like the augmented reality and giant touch-screen TV.

The new technology used added more excitement in viewing experience and helped viewers understand the news with state-of-the-art visual support. “TV Patrol World” topped the national ratings on election day with 31.5% vs GMA’s “24 Oras” (25%), according to TNS (Taylor Nelson Sofres)

The visual presence technology, wherein the anchor converses with a ‘virtual’ image of the reporter deployed to a different area, was one of the most commended features of the “Halalan 2010″ coverage.

The same technology was used by CNN during their election coverage in 2008. It created a stir when the international news organization referred to it as hologram, which was disputed by experts. This was the same case when GMA chose to use the term “hologram, instead of using the appropriate term virtual presence.

ABS-CBN also used a huge 103-inch touch-screen monitor to show comments of Pinoys generated through various social networking sites. But more than the high-tech facilities used, ABS-CBN was able to give the most comprehensive and up-to-date stories.

“It was not just about the technology but the story. We made sure the substance was not lost,” said ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs Head Maria Ressa.

ABS-CBN is the most trusted TV network when it comes to election news coverage, according to Pulse Asia that did a survey on 21-25 February.

The results show that 63% of Filipinos believe that ABS-CBN is the most credible TV network in covering the campaign as compared to GMA 7, which only got 55% credibility rating.

ABS-CBN anchors and reporters also played a very crucial role on the success of election coverage as they become multimedia journalists reporting not just on TV but also online via abs-cbnNEWS.com and actively posting updates on their respective Facebook and Twitter accounts. In fact, ABS-CBN anchors like Julius Babao, Karen Davila, and Ces Drilon already have thousands of followers on Twitter.

ABS-CBN also conducted exit polls in partnership with Pulse Asia and it was also the only network that conducted a parallel count on randomly selected precincts all over the Philippines in partnership with STI.

A remake of the fantasy series Encantadia was pitched by GMA-7 sometime ago. Encantadia, which starred Sunshine Dizon, Iza Calzado, Karylle, and Diana Zubiri, received moderate to huge success when it was shown years ago.

In a TV plug sometime ago, GMA-7 brought the idea of resurrecting the now-defunct fantasy series. Many thought that a remake would soon be airing on GMA-7.

However, network insiders informed Pinoy Gossip Boy that the remake of Encantadia might not push through. First, Karylle have transferred to ABS-CBN. Also, there are rumors that Sunshine Dizon and Iza Calzado has not fully reconciled with each other.

Encantadia made way for the spin-off series, Etheria.
